I am constantly noticing when ads are effective or ineffective. These are some I think demonstrate some of the concepts we’ve been learning about.
This sign from a coffee shop on campus corner shows nice balance. Although the word “CRIMSON” is bigger than the others, the words on the bottom and the smaller ones in between balance it out nicely.
Everyone knows Starbucks and there’s a good reason why. Their repetition from their signs to their cups to their commercials is all very consistent and makes you remember their logo.
There are obviously good examples of color everywhere but in the Chipotle sign they’ve used great shades of red that highlight their logo and also make you think of spicy food.
Target is a great example of a minimalist logo. Having just a couple circles has turned this giant store into what it is today.
